India has the largest population in the world. Still, it has made significant progress in healthcare since its independence. In India, the healthcare system is complex, with multiple players involved in the whole process. It involves government ministries & hospitals, private institutions, and public-private partnerships. But even with all the concerned parties involved, from public to private, it is difficult for the system to provide good medical support to all people in need. Therefore, these vulnerable people go through many hardships in their lives, such as a low lifespan, death due to treatable diseases, and other negative effects on their health. This gives rise to medical charity or health support by social organisations. With our core mission to help marginalized people in society, providing value in the form of healthcare is one of our major focuses. Therefore, Sadguru Foundation has been at the forefront of various healthcare initiatives to help people in need. Let us look at our recent medical support initiatives below:
Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases in the world. Even before the treatment starts, the misconceptions and the fear of the disease make it difficult for the patient to get the proper course ahead for the same. In India, the situation is even worse because adequate awareness of the disease is not widely spread throughout the country. This makes it difficult for people to face the challenges on their own. Therefore, taking into consideration all of these factors, we started our cancer initiatives for people who are not able to afford these treatments. We guide these patients with the utmost care and actively help them raise donations for their cause. These include taking care of the treatment cost, hospitalisation expenses, doctor fees, blood work, or any other related treatments for the same disease. Our medical appeal also supports people with other diseases to help them with their cause.
The most important thing about cancer is the early and correct diagnosis of the type of cancer. This can only happen if attention is paid to early signs of the same. We ensure this by increasing our public awareness campaigns to make sure we can detect cancer in its early stages. After the cancer is diagnosed, fear is an important factor we need to tackle for people. Our volunteers and members provide proper care for these people to deal with the cancer in the best way possible. This leads to the next step: raising funds for the cancer patients. This is where our NGO takes advantage of different crowdfunding methods to raise donations for these people and provide them with critical financial help.
Another of our primary health initiatives is to improve women's empowerment in India. This issue is related to the overall health of women in the country. It involves a wide range of issues, and our social organisation has been at the forefront of the same for many years now. Free health check-up camps are one of these initiatives, which were specifically conceptualised for rural women who are not able to get the same health outcomes as their counterparts do in the cities. Our NGO seeks to identify regions that are particularly lacking in health and medical facilities for rural women and implement our medical initiatives there. We conducted one such health camp on Women's Day with a doctor and nurse who understood their needs and, at the same time, provided basic medications for their problems. Our volunteers also run sanitary pad distribution camps for women in need. They also make sure to raise awareness about the same to ensure they follow the best healthcare practices in the future. This ensures that women in rural India can take care of their health challenges and also provides the same for future generations.
Health is one of the most important aspects of human life. To provide medical support for all the marginalised people in society, we need help from people like you to bring about a positive change for their betterment. Support our initiatives and contribute to our health donations to encourage the people to fight against their diseases and bring about a health revolution in the country.
