We can’t fight this epidemic if we don’t address the underlying conditions that exacerbate the impact of the virus. The trajectory of HIV and AIDS is closely linked to poverty and education. Many of our programs offer skill-building and vocational training to empower people and help them find a residence. AIDS and Youth: There are more than 1.8 billion people in the world today, the largest number ever. HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death among adolescents after traffic accidents. 300 young people die every day. AIDS IN INDIA: 2.1 million people live with HIV in India. 3rd highest number after South Africa and Nigeria.
Hansen's disease (also known as leprosy) is an infection caused by a slow-growing bacteria called Mycobacterium leprae. It can affect the nerves, skin, eyes, and lining of the nose (the nasal mucosa). With early diagnosis and treatment, the disease can be cured.
