Three Ways to Support Women’s Rights Everyday for International Women’s Day 2025 and Beyond

Ugh! Yet another year of the same events happening all over again. Social media feeds buzzing with glowing posts and too-good-to-be-true gestures about International Women’s Day 2025, well before the actual day. But, why this is getting under my skin?
Because many of these people show fake care and advocacy towards women's rights and equality in the online world. They overlook women's difficulties, remain silent when it’s important, and may even contribute to the situation in offline life.
And it isn't just them; you and I are guilty too. Tell me, are we confronting uncomfortable biased views toward women? How many times do we question unreasonable expectations placed on women? How often do we take action over mere preaching? Rarely!
Inequality isn’t an episodic issue, it’s a daily reality. But, what does sincere, everyday support look like? This article is about Women's Day and the ongoing fight for women's rights, so stick with me till the end, you’ll have your answer.

Support Women-Owned Business | Women’s Rights #1 | International Women’s Day 2025

While writing this article I did some research and came across a few stats that were certainly disappointing but didn't come as a shocker to me. As per a survey , 43% of women said their families or spouses did not financially help them in starting a business. Worse, 85% had trouble obtaining loans from public-sector institutions.
The few fortunate ones who were able to secure capital ran into issues with winning customer/client confidence, limited networking opportunities, and juggling personal and professional lives. To be clear, the problem isn’t their lack of talent or abilities. But it's the systemic obstacles that prevent them from progressing. How can we change this?
Prefer to shop from women-led businesses in a male-dominated industry. Hire women-owned services like consultants, designers, and freelancers. Share positive words and reviews about them on social media. Speak up for work-life juggles through sharing insights, and challenging outdated mindsets. About World Women’s Day, let’s commit to real action for women's rights, everyday.

Call Out Gender-Bias and Discrimination | Women’s Rights #2 | International Women’s Day 2025

How many times have you felt sorry for being a girl as certain privileges are reserved just for your brother? For eg., he is allowed to stay out late when you have a strict curfew. Or when you and the women in your household are dutied to serve dinner while the males sit at the table? And when you speak up, you are dismissed as a rebel or told, that's just the way things are.
Women suffer gender discrimination or bias in all settings, not just at home. Perhaps you've seen your ideas dismissed at a community function, just for a male to come forward with the same concept and take all the credit! And at work? It's quite maddening! According to a report, over half of all women have experienced bias during job interviews. They are asked uncomfortable questions about relationships, kids, and dealing with pressure, which men rarely hear.
And when women break through these barriers, they’re heavily criticized. They’re judged as too aggressive in leadership roles, too emotional for speaking up, or too ambitious for wanting more. While men showing the same passion are seen as strong, ambitious, and decisive. Enough! This is unjust and a blatant assault on women's rights and opportunities.
Speak up if you witness or experience bias. Challenge obsolete beliefs. Support women's decisions concerning work, parenting, and lifestyle. Interrupt biased discussions. Speak for unfair behavior on the job, at home, and everywhere else. Fight for fair compensation, equal opportunity, and just treatment. Credit their ideas, and never keep mum whenever you see a woman being treated wrongly.
Speak up, at home, at work, everywhere. Will you take a stand or stay silent?

Mentor and Uplift Young Girls | Women’s Rights #3 | International Women’s Day 2025

Generational trauma is deep and passed down through limitations. Girls are taught from a young age that they are not strong, bright, or capable enough. They are trained to be silent, compromise, and expect less.
With no one to support and guide them, they begin to believe in bias. They start to doubt their abilities and end up fitting into a box society designed for them. Hence, mentorship is necessary for empowering young ladies and is a daily effort.
Have a look around. Is your relative unsure about pursuing a particular career? Has your neighbor been talked down into pursuing STEM? Also, a colleague may be hesitant to take on managerial duties.
Connect with everyone and listen to their thoughts, worries, and perspectives without disregarding their issues. Push them to stand up, fight for their dreams, negotiate salaries, apply for scholarships, lead a team despite snooty remarks from male coworkers. Tell the young minds about women who have defied the odds and inspire them.
With your mentorship, the young girls will become self-sufficient and independent. They’ll find courage in standing up against discrimination and preserving their rights. They will break into traditionally male-dominated professions.
So, let's take action instead of just posting about International Women's Day 2025. Tell me, who will you motivate today?

Wrapping Up

Supporting women’s rights is the need of the hour. Women and girls continue to suffer systemic challenges in homes, schooling, job opportunities, and even basic rights. Change doesn’t happen on its own, it demands conscious action every single day. While individual efforts matter, collective support is just as crucial. This means standing with organizations that actively work to empower women and dismantle these barriers.
Sadguru Foundation is one such force for change. It provides education scholarships, menstrual health awareness, medical camps, and essential resources to girls in need. Beyond this, it also supports women through skill development programs, livelihood opportunities, and initiatives promoting healthcare access for mothers. By donating, volunteering, or spreading awareness, you help fuel their mission. Because when women rise, society rises with them.
To every wonderful woman reading this, your strength, resilience, and dreams matter. Keep pushing forward. Keep breaking barriers. Happy International Women’s Day 2025!
